The Capuchin Monastery Und
The former Capuchin Monastery Und was founded in the early 17th century. Its German name could be literally translated as „and“. Actually, it’s more likely that it derives from the latin word „unda“, which means „wave“ and most probably refers to a well there or the Danube river.
The monastery, by the way, was dissolved in the late 18th century. Nowadays, its former altar is kept in St. Vitus‘ church in Krems.
